I had a crainitotomy exactly 2 months ago in relation to the date I've posted this, all I've been scared of has went relatively well. I'd been experiencing absence seizures/temporal lobe epilepsy due to a benign tumour in the right side of my brain which was making my life a living hell - having up to 6 seizures a day for almost 2 years straight. So far, I've experienced very little side effects in my opinion. Obviously I've had headaches, my mood has been all over the place as I've been recovering, I've got some nerve damage at my jaw as they'd cut through the muscle but my stitches came out pretty early and my neuro is so happy with how I've been recovering and - not to jinx it - but so far I've had no seizures, which is amazing to me although I understand not to get my hopes up too much for now.
Now that there's a bit of context behind this, I've been experiencing almost like a phantom stabbing pain down the line of my scar which lingers about and (very recently, like within the last week) all over my head I can feel every hair moving and my scalp is burning constantly, I can't stop scratching it. I don't want to do my head anymore damage, but is this normal to expect due to nerves and muscle repairing? Just as it's my whole head instead of my right side only. I've also noticed a dip on my right temple, which everyone assures me they can't see, however it's the first thing I notice when I see myself. I'm fortunate enough to have long and thick hair which can cover it as well as my scar but it worries me it'll get worse.
Has anyone else experienced this post surgery, and are there any other things I should potentially look out for incase? My immune system seems very low right now as I'm catching colds left, right and centre so I'm just overly worrying but I'd like to know and be safe rather than sorry. Sorry for the long read, but thanks to anyone who can help!
