Broken/dislocated tailbone

After a not so major herniated disc issued for 20 months my tail bone has collapsed. I already had a kortazon injection and never sitting or lying flat on my back. Now while I was sleeping I heard a snap sound and I can tell it has come loose.
Is there ever a chance of heeling or is surgery (removing my tailbone) is my only option for recovery?

Thank you, I have seen my orthapedic surgeon and had the kortazon injection. While I was sleeping couple of hours ago I woke up with a crack sound of my tailbone and now can't sleep. I have 4 supporting children and the same with my husband. I have been reading about the surgery and the recovery process and time, which terrifies me. I am only 35 and lost my competency with life. I am going to have another scan at a different hospital and get a second opinion. If the concur I would have to have the surgery or I could choose to suffer. I love this support group, it gives me confidence from people like you. Thank you.
