Continued Shoulder Pain

I fell on my shoulder in February and tore my labrum, Bankart Tear.  My orthopedic doctor said she didn’t think that the pain and months of therapy after surgery would be worth it.  She said I should to therapy, so I went to physical therapy 3x a week until August.  Yesterday I was in a Jiu Jitsu class and had my arm pinned by my partner, there were a couple of loud pops and sharp pain once she let go.  Today my shoulder hurts when it is moved in any way.  My partner thinks it’s all her fault, but I don’t even know what happened.  Therapy helped a little, but my shoulder still felt like it was catching and loose in other areas.  What should I do?

Thanks DrKaul,
I went to see here a few days ago and she thinks it was just a buildup of scar tissue that came loose, and that I didn't do anything else to it. It has almost gotten to the point that participating in any sport that I enjoy hurts.  Golf is out of the question, jiu jitsu depends on the spot I end up, and rowing is bad because of the strain on the shoulder.
So I'm kind of stuck for a little until I'm done with school and can talk it over with my doctor.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi there!

Well, without a clinical evaluation it would be difficult to determine the cause of your symptoms. Possibilities that may need to be considered include re-injuries, dislocation/ subluxation, muscle sprain/ spasm, inflammation etc. I would suggest getting this reviewed by your treating doctor for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management. Meanwhile I would suggest resting the arm. Ice-packs/ warm compresses and tylenol/ OTC NSAIDS may be helpful for relief.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
