Hip Labral Tear Surgery

Finally, after two years of hip & groin pain, my daughter was diagnosed as having a hip labral tear.  She is a collegiate athlete as a pole vaulter and is concerned about the long recovery of having the tear repaired surgically.  Has anyone recently had this surgery that can relay their recovery experience?  As an athlete, she is in excellent physical shape...but is worried about muscle atrophy and being able to be back to a competitive level in 3 months.

Hi:
Yes, I have alot of back pain with my labral tear in both of my hips, I also have upper thigh pain with deep ache, butt pain with deep ache and right groin pain only when activity (like swimming) I was told my Dr. B. Domb that I have a tear in my right and left hips, tear in both buttocks, and I have bone spurs, with FAI.  I'm not sure if I'm going to let Dr. Domb do my surgery.  I like to know more about Dr. Terry at the Northwestern Hospital because it would be much easier to get to NW Hospital instead of me going to Hinsdale or Westmont.  Please tell me about your surgery with Dr. Terry  Thanks.
