Hey there.  I had this problem in my right wrist/hand but luckily I did not have to have a tendon transplant.  I just had ligament and tendon repair with bone removal.  Technology is wonderful now!  The recovery may be a long process but depending on the pain you are in now, it may be well worth it.  Bone to bone is not good and eventually, if it has not started already, your bones will begin to grind down  causing even more discomfort.  At some point after surgery, you will more than likely have physical therapy.  Your therapist will help you build your muscle mass back up and help you regain most, if not all, movement that was hindered by surgery.  Ultimately this decision is yours, but if you have concerns, you should speak to your doctor and voice your concerns.  I hope this has helped you out.  I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
