Labrum Tear NOT Ovarian Cyst Pain

Has anyone else experienced pain from a torn labrum during ovulation?  I was told a year ago that I had a solid, complex, ovarian cyst and possible cancer.  Turned out the cyst got smaller and I dont have cancer.  Now my pain is still horrible during ovulation but my Dr. today told me the pain is no where near my ovary!  I found an MRI report from 2007 which said I had a possible torn labrum in my right hip and I asked if it was related.  Well low and behold every area she pressed on hurt like hell and she said this is absolutely not an ovary issue!  I have had pain in that hip for years but just blew it off.  I do get ovarian cysts but from what the Dr. said today, I have probably made my labrum issue much much worse and for whatever reason it gets more severe during ovulation.  Please tell me Im not crazy and someone else has had this issue

Hi! I realize this post is kind of old, but I've had a similar thing happen to me!
I thought I had an ovarian cyst (VERY painful near my left ovary and I also found I had a suspected labrum tear. (Now the Physician Assistant is saying I'm too old for the surgery...I just turned 42!! I'm going for a second opinion.)

Could you please let me know how everything went?

Hey Kim!

Pain from a torn labrum is unlikely to be periodic, as is associated with ovulation; while both ovaries and labrum could cause continuous or intermittent pain. A detailed clinical evaluation would be required to differentiate between the two and suggest a management plan. I would suggest considering a second opinion by a primary care physician initially and depending on the cause diagnosed/ suspected, it can be managed accordingly or specialist care may be sought.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
