Pain after fracture continues but nothing on X-ray.

My daughter was diagnosed with a grade 1 fracture of the growth plate in her left foot after a soccer game injury. There has been nothing found seen on the X-rays or mri scans but based on pain and symptoms was diagnosed as such. She has been in a walking boot off and on for 5-6 weeks. Injury occurred 8 weeks ago. Dr’s have said the injury should be healed and no clear answer as to why pain persists. We have tried non weight bearing with crutches for a week too and pain continues.

Hello, welcome to the forum. sorry about your daughter's injury. Growth plate injuries are tricky. They often don't show on x rays or mri's and they take a long time to heal. They are still monitoring it, correct? At the time of injury, it is hard to tell how damaged a growth plate is and if it is permanent. Sometimes they follow an injury through growth.  Did they recommend physical therapy? Healing time varies but fractures near or over a growth plate can take several weeks to heal.
