Hello

Even after following the advised procedure, infection occurred within a week after Revision TKR, what can be done now. The antibiotics given not solving the problem and Dr advise for a another operation or to go for fusion, and on that also he is saying it can't be say 100% curable.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello!

Rheumatoid arthritis is a systemic problem and total knee replacement surgery is not a solution as the disease is progressive.

This is another issue but as she already has undergone TKR the most important complication for any orthopedic procedure is infection.

Maintain complete hygiene and strict asepsis and follow up with her surgeon to decrease the infection with antibiotics or surgical intervention.

Take care!
