TFCC DEBRIDEMENT

I had the TFCC debridement done June 26 2013, have been in PT for 6 weeks now. Still having pain in unla side and not much movement as far as bending wrist forward or back. The reason for the surgery was degenerative ligament/tear. The surgeon said he may need to do ulna shortening. How long before I start to have use of my wrist again?

I have been do research on line and will fin out in 2 weeks if this is needed. I have a degenerate torn ligament in left wrist and now after 8 weeks post op the ulna bone is rubbing and at times feels like it wants to pop out plus I still have swelling in the area.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi!
After ulnar shortening you will be taken up for post-op rehabilitation, which usually is done is various phases depending on control of tissue edema and return of strength to the wrist. Normally it takes about 6-8 weeks before you can regain complete use of wrist. Please consult your doctor regarding this. Take care!
