Apologies in advance for the length of this post but it all started four years ago when I developed a pain in the ulnar side of my right wrist, I went to my local hospital where they discovered I had tfcc damage. Sadly they didn't have the expertise to treat this so I was referred to a city hospital where the surgeon repeated an MRI scan which came back negative and I was discharged still in pain and in need of treatment. I continued in my quest for treatment over the next two years being turned away from clinics with the same outcome. In this time I had to overcompensate with my left hand and tradgicly I developed the same pain in this arm too. Two years down the line I found a doctor at a London NHS hospital willing to give me a chance and performed an arthroscopy on my right wrist where he found secondary changes in the tfcc and a positive variance of 4mm in the ulnar. Later that year I had the shortening procedure. This has cleared up the painful clicking and popping I experienced in the joint but I'm still in as much pain as I was prior to these procedures. In my left arm I had an arthroscopy performed and the same changes in the tfcc were found although there was no evidence of a positive variance in the ulnar. This monday I had a consultation with the surgeon where he broke the news to me that he has done all he can to help me. I don't know where to go from here and it is very stressful and depressing to think that I will have to live with this pain for the rest of my life. As I'm only 24 there's so much that I want to achieve which has been made impossible with this obstacle in my way.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated, thank you
