I am a 32 yo female who has had left ulnar sided wrist pain for over a year now. I did not have any trauma to the area but believe it may have initially started as a tendonitis. The pain started on the ulnar side but has now spread over the top of my wrist. It is especially painful when I move my hand towards the ulnar side and bend my wrist backwards. I recently had an arthrogram and these are the results. I have no idea what they mean.
The current fibrocartilage complex appears intact. No tear of the intrinsic ligaments of the wrist are identified. The scapholunate and lunate triquetral ligaments appear grossly intact without abnormal communication in the mid carpal joint.
There is ulnar minus variance. No marrow edema is identified of the carpal bones. There is a bone island noted of the capitate and probable tiny subcortical cyst of the lunate versus erosion.
There is fluid that outlines the extensor digitorum and extensor indicies tendons consistent with tenosynovitis. There is a subluxed appearance of the extensor carpi ulnaris tendon also outlined by trace amount of fluid. The carpal tunnel, transverse ligament, medial and ulnar nerves are grossly unremarkable.
Impression: Tenosynovitis of the extensor carpi ulnaris, extensor digitorum and extensor indicies tendons. Subluxed appearance of the extensor carpi ulnaris tendon. Intact TFCC
I have no idea what to do from here. I am in significant amounts of pain and my doctor just wants to keep giving me cortison injections.
