residual limb is the PC term for stump that is if you got an amputation
hi thanks for replying to my msg
the doctor at the hospital as put me in for a mri scan on my neck (dont know why thou)
even my own gp dont understand why that is but still its about 8 to 9 months waiting list for an mri at the moment anyway ive just taken a look at RSD on the internet n being honest it sounds like my symptoms
ive tried finding answers myself on the internet due to the hospital not taking things normal due to the surgeon who done the operation was onlly a consultant n he didnt do the right operation on me in the first place as i was ment to have carpal tunnel surgery n got trigger finger instead
what is residual limp..??
hope to hear from u soon
kind regards
lisa
one more thing if what is going on is RSD Amputation would not work to get rid of your pain it is a nerve problem and the nerves would still be there and create a phantom pain and the RSD would start at the residual limp.
sounds like RSD( Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy ) have a Dr take a look at it
the thing is with my hand the surgeon who done the operation was only a consultant n he was not qualified to do the operation in the first place i just want my fingers gone as im in so much pain i was not in this much pain even before the operation it was ment to be a carpal tunnel operation n instead he gave me a trigger finger operation
i just really need to know if there is a chance i can have my fingers amputated i know u might think it a bit extreame but im in pain 24 hours a day 7 days a week and there are no pain killers that get rid of the pain
hope u will answer soon
kind regards
lisa
Hello Dear,
You should not be so depressed and do not think of such procedures. The complications of amputation and the pain thereafter will be more distressing. No surgeon will ever do this intervention .
Best
being honest if i was to ask a orthapedic surgeon about amputating my hand as its so messed up due to the surgeon giving me a wrong operation would they amputate it???
hope some one will reply soon
Hello Dear,
You should consult your physician and go in for physical therapy and other conservative treatments to regain the muscular power.Exercises which will help strengthening your hand should be done. You should consult a pain clinic and go for the treatment.Do not be upset and hope for the best.
