Im so concerned, somwetimes she wakes up and has pain the percocets work pretty good. Sometimes I dont understand the ascites. Her last chemo was 11 days ago shouldnt it have helped? Hi,
Can i ask if the cisplatin is done through IV or IP? I has cisplatin thats all through IP (port in my abdominal area) 6 whole litres if it each time- my oncologist said that bloating in the worst part of this chemo, can be extremely uncomfortable and takes ages to go down! I finished chemo on 1st of september and my stomach is still not back to normal yet. It would also be useful to ensure that her bowels are moving every day- movicol and pear juice are great for this and a CT scan wouldnt hurt either if your really worried. Mine showed that my ureters were dilated so i actually had to get stints put in to help myt kidney and bladder out-since then i have drained a lot of excess fluid from all parts of my body. Maybe your mum also just has excess fluid- it all takes time.

Dont be too alarmed i would think it is a side affect of the cisplatin as it was for me- not cancer. I too got severe abdominal pain every now and then but was from debulking surgery, scar tissue, chemo etc. Good luck :)
