Oregon- Land of the Beaver

Yeah, sorry about that. I wasn't sure how else to describe our state. We have it all here - mountains, oceans beaches, deserts. Great sites like Mt. Hood, Crater Lake (deepest lake in the US), Columbia gorge and river, even enjoy our neighbor's volcano (Mt. St. Helens) at times. Manmade goodies are Astoria column, Crown Point, Powell's City of Books. Then we have salmon, crabbing, hazelnuts and Moonstruck Chocolates. And no, Portland is not the state capitol; it's Salem. Bicycling, mass transit,  recycling and vegetarians are the norm here. What a fun place.

What hospital? That would make a difference as to what area. Don't want to add a long commute to the stressful time. I'm guessing it will be OHSU but not sure. My husband works up there and I'll have him ask what they recommend of out-of-town patients,

Star - The Candy Factory? The one on 181st? That's so very close to our home. Multnomah Falls is a great place to see, especially in the winter when it's partly frozen.

I love Oregon,  favorite time share vacation for entire family, we stay in the Welches area, ski Mt Hood,  take the kids to the Enchanted Forest, I like the Candy Factory, the drive to see all the falls is beautiful. The Salmon river is fantastic place to picnic and hike. Last time we were there  we drove into Portland to the zoo, and caught a hugh festival  going on and of course the winerys, Never a dull moment in Oregon . We have stayed at the same resort 4 times now, right on the edge of a nice golf course.

have a friend in Oregon that has Lupus and has cancer. She is having a bone marrow transplant in Portland in 2 months, she and her
husband plan to rent a place there for 4 months.
Do know of any organization that can offer them housing for free or low cost.
Tks
