Ovary Removal

No question here...just comments. I had both my ovaries removed - age 49- no cancer.
I have never felt so bad in my life. Lithargic, mentally disabled, bad skin (I had beautiful skin!!).
Hate all the symptoms. I want to curse the doctors who so readily yank ovaries out- even in women who are supposedly to go thru menopause at approx. 51. Shame on them.
They know the symptoms, do not spell it out, do a poor informed consent and then walk away while the patient is left with life long symptoms.....
OB's need to show women videos. Heck, I saw a great video on dental implants.....so why not ovary removal/side effects video.
It is amazing. If I wanted to learn all of the symptoms instead of going to law school I should have gone to medical school. Shame shame on the "professionals."

I can totally understand your feeling. I had ovarian cyst and I am still working on to find a doctor that have more experience to save my ovary. One doc. I met is really sucks. I told him I want laporascopy to remove the cyst. He told me the risk. I may lose the ovary and laparoscpy may changed to laparotomy. I said I understand the possiblities. Then he wrote sth. on the paper sheet. Without any explaination to me, he stood up and showed me out. I am so confused. I asked him to have a look at what is on the paper sheet. Guess what? He wrote "laparoscpy oophorectomy". Although I am a foreigner, I knew what this means. I pointed out and asked him what did this mean? Guess what he explained to me. He said "cyst remove". I stared at him and said nothing and did nothing. he realized I am not as stupid as he is, then he grabed the sheet from me and said to me" let us say this" He changed to laparoscopy cystoctomy and possible laparoscopy oophorectomy and possible laparotectmy. Whatever, I will never go back to him! Shame on him!!!!!!! Let him go to hell!

I left you a message on the other post (an older post by 'sippy') ...actually, I left two messages for you on that thread.

Oh, and don't feel bad about double posting. I think that has happened to us all once or twice. Sometimes it seems as if something is not posting and then you look up and it is up there like 2 - 3 times!
