Can Laparoscopy change menstrual cycle?

Hi Everyone,
I was supposed to get my period two days ago.  I had a laparoscopy on Wednesday.  Can the lap effect my cycle?  I have been spotting a little bit, but nothing more.  Is this normal? I am a little worried,  If anyone has any answers please let me know.
Thanks
Marge

Hi,

I had my laparoscopy done in June this year. Since then I've been spotting and just when you think it has passed; the actaul period starts. Kindly confirm when your menstrual cycle would go back to a normal 28 day cycle?
I've been confusing this with an actual pregnancy and end up disappointed when not.

Please advise soonest?

Kind Regards,
assist

Hi
I had the SHoulder Pain for four days straight.  It started the day after surgery.  The gas pain started one  night after surgery, It was horrible.  Doctors need to figure out how to get rid of the gas.  The pain from the gas is worse than the pain from surgery.

Hey!
How many days did you have that shoulder pain, anyway?  Did anything the girls suggested help at all?
I lost one ovary with my surgery, spotted 6 days post op, and still no period.
I am NOT complaining though, especially since I had periods from hell with the cyst.

Hi Marge ,
I definately wouldn,t worry , as Lori said with the trauma of surgery it would cause some disruptions with your body . Everything will be running like clockwork again soon but minus the pain !! . Have a nice rest and take care . Angie xx

Hi there,
Yes, it will somewhat.  If you still have both ovaries it may just be a little late.  Your body has been traumatized with surgery and the cyst probably caused a little upset as well.  If you had an ovary removed then the other one will have to "get it" that it's the one in charge now.

Just be patient and don't worry.  You're body will get back to normal.  You just gotta recover.

Take care,
Lori
