I haven't been on in a few days but wanted to let you know that my first CA since starting avastin/abraxane was down from 613 to 315. And up until lst week I was doing fine on it. But Fri I developed a problem with high blood pressure. I had to miss my treatment yesterday and spent the biggest part of the day in the ER trying to get it leveled out. I have been started on 2 kinds of BP medicine so hopefully we will get it under control. My onc is trying his hardest as he wants to keep me on it due to the good results so far. I hope that it will do wonders for you to.

There's a few of us on Avastin right now, but we haven't gotten the results yet. I think one may have already had it and initially responded, but relapsed. I get 10mg/kilogram of body weight every other week along with a daily pill of cyclophosphamide 50mg. I haven't really had any side effects, to be quite honest. I am tired and much more so after my Avastin infusion. That seems to resolve after a couple of days. I know my blood pressure has gotten higher, but I'm told that's quite common. I am planning to have 4 treatments, then a CT scan to see if it's working. I have to be careful because it's costing me and my family nearly $6000 a treatment, out of pocket. It will be a mixed blessing I guess, if it does work!
Good luck...this seems to be a real up and coming, promising drug for some women.
