Ultrasonography pelvic region

My ultrasonography gives the following result:

1)retroverted bulky size uterus with multiple mass lesions, few of them leading to Focal bulge in uterine outline........apparently subserosal& intramural leiomyomas.
2) Bulky & Globular polycystic left ovary.

What line of treatment do you suggest? Please advice.

Hi Angie,

Your reply has put me to ease. Thanks a lot. I would like to tell you about few other details, I am 44 years old and my periods are absolutely normal. Off late I have developed a mild nagging discomfort/pain on the left lower abdomen. I will definitely be consulting a Gynae and keep u posted on the line of treatment.

Thanks once again, warm regards, Sheryl.

Hi ,
A retroverted uterus is one that is tipped backwards (very common), the leiomyomas are fibroids , again these are common in women over 30 (I had 16 !!! ). Im not a doctor but I think its implying that the fibroids are leading to bulges in your uterus , which makes sense, and you also have a polycystic ovary .
The fibroids are sometimes just watched with tvus for growth pattern , there are a few surgical procedures that can be used to remove them in some cases . Are they causing symptoms ? mine caused heavy bleeding and painful periods . I think you need to ask your doctor about the different options open to you , I would ask about the polycystic ovary , sometimes they give a diabetic drug for pcos called Metformin .

Good luck with everything , keep us posted , Best wishes Angie
