Ovary removal and recovery time

Hello all, I am scheduled to have an ovary removed as it appears that two cysts are wrapped around it. I know there is never a "good, or convenient time" to have surgery, but this REALLY is not a convenient time for me as I care for my parents (as in partial health caretaker, house caretaker etc.), work 60 hour weeks, have an ill daughter, and just bought a new house that needs LOTS of renovations, etc. etc...not to mention summer is coming and I have friends scheduled to come out from across country and I'm sure they won't be thrilled with just hanging out at the house while I recoup...we had camping and kayaking trips planned!  I know everyone is different, but I'm wondering what the typical time frame is before one becomes somewhat (and I'm not talking hiking mountains!) active again?
Thanks!

Bleeding or drainage could last up to 5 or 7 days. as long as it is black and not heavy drainage.

If the cysts are wrapped around the ovary, they need to be removed ASAP as the risk of them twisting or cutting off blood supply to ovary are higher and youll then risk gangrene, etc. Unfortunately no time is convenient enough, but sometimes even as a caregiver you need to take the time to put yourself first, as difficult as it is( I've done caregiving and love it, but understand how hard it is to put YOU first before them when its your health)

do you know when you are having surgery? When they decided I needed surgery I had a 3 month waiting period before I finally got surgery. Is it open surgery(laparotomy)?

If its a laparotomy you'll be quite limited on what you're able to do for 4-6 weeks. Its very stressful and frustrating but needs to be done and need to give yourself that time otherwise it takes longer to heal and run risk of hernias, etc.

Is there any way you can get extra help during that time from other family or friends?
