The doctors (2 of them) told me it's no big deal and to wait 3 months for a follow up ultrasound. However, one of them (younger) said - sure, I'll do surgery if you really want it and the other (older, more experienced) said surgery was certainly not needed. neither of them actually went through the report with me.
I got the report from the radiologist so I could see it myself but I don't know what this all means. Some of it sounds really ominous to me but what do I know? I'm worrying myself sick which isn't helpful when trying to care for a 1 year old baby.
I know people on this board are so educated, can any of you well-versed ladies give me an idea of what this actually means? Should I have surgery? Should I not worry and just follow up in three months. I'm just freaked out and don't know what to believe.
Thank you THANK YOU to anyone who could help me.
SECOND ULTRASOUND FINDINGS 9/1/11:
The uterus is 3.2 x 4.9 x 8.5 cm. The endometrial echo is 4.4 mm. The right adnexa is 2.6 x 4.5 cm with a 1.4 cm cyst. In addition, there is a 2.3 cm hypoechoic mass. The left adnexa is 2.1 x 3.5 cm with a 1.0 cm cyst and there is a 1.7 cm hypoechoic mass. No fluid in the cul-de-sac is seen. Additional 1.5 cm complex mass is seen in the left adnexa.
CONCLUSION:
Compared to 8-18, the bilateral adnexal cysts are smaller. However, there is interval
development of hypoechoic but solid appearing lesions bilaterally measuring 2.3 cm on the
right and 1.7 cm on the left with additional 1.5 cm complex lesion on the left. These could
represent hemorrhagic cysts. Solid masses cannot be entirely excluded. Clinical
correlation and follow up examination are recommended. The endometrium is not of normal
thickness. There is otherwise no significant interval change.
