Seeking advise and knowledge about my most recent test results.

I have been suffering GI problem for the past three years. After having surgery for a dysfunctional bile duct I was diagnosed having irritable bowel. I was also diagnosed with Endometriosis. I had laporscopic  surgery confirming two tiny pin size spots of endometriosis on the back side of utuerus next to my rectum. I have bouts of constipation with stomache distention. I also have severe heartburn. Just recently I felt as though my esophagous was coming right up into my mouth.

Within this past year I have developed pressure and pain in my groin and leg, discovering that I had a small lump in my left groin. My doctor didn't appear to be too concerned but did say that it was a lymph node.  The left node has gotten a bit bigger and now I have 3 small hard lymph nodes in my right groin accompanied by pressure and achiness in groin and leg. In the past 3 months I now have heaviness, pressure and tenderness to touch in my pelvis, very low. I really am concerned and am hoping to have some answers soon. I am tired of being sick and tired. I am not in debilitating pain all the time; but I know something is not right.

My Doc sent me for a CT scan of pelvis and the report stated:

1.There is a left adnexal cyst measuring 3.7 by 2.8 cm. This would be best evaluated w/ ultrasound rather than CT.
2. There are no enlarged lymph nodes in the groin or elsewhere in the pelvis. Only small, normal sized inguinal lymph nodes are noted.
3. Probably a small amount of free pelvic fluid

The fact that the report states no enlarged lymph nodes is confusing to me. The lymph nodes are noticeably palpable and larger than they were before. They are also hard and have gotten a little bigger. My doctor has also confirmed by examining me. My doctor has referred me to a Gynocologist for follow up. I decided to wait until my period to see if my symptoms would subside. It has been a month now and the symptoms are still present. I have a Gyno appt in 3 days.

Does the test results mean I should not be concerned about the lymph nodes? I have had the pressure and pain in my groin down my leg for awhile and now I have tenderness and pressure in my pelvis. The pressure and achiness in my groin and leg is predominately on the right side although the cyst noted was on the left. The pelvic tenderness and pressure is both sides.

I thought CT scan was a better test but my results state to have an ultrasound?? Being that I had a CT scan and cancer was not mentioned does this mean it is not cancer? I have also heard mentioned in this forum simple or complex. My results do not state either. what does this mean?

Please anyone with knowledge or advise right now would be helpful.

I don't know that I can offer much help, but since you have a gyn visit in 3 days, write down on all your symptoms, write down all your questions (you know how easy it is to forget once you are there) and get a copy of your ultrasound report to take with you to the doctor. Please tell the gyn all of your symptoms, even the gastro related ones.  Also, on the right hand side of this page, is the Health Pages link. There is information on cysts that might be helpful to you. Please come back and let us know how you are doing and what the gyn says.  Good luck to you, Colleen
