ttc with possible dermoid?

I have pcos and we are ttc #3.  During an u/s i was told i have a 6cm cyst on my right ovary and they wanna do an MRI to find out if this is a dermoid or not.  If it is - can i still ttc? or would i have to wait until i have the surgury to remove it?

I would probably put off ttc until after given the chance ahead of time, but they can remove cysts while pregnant.  I had a 9 cm cystadenoma removed midway through my pregnancy.  They will not do laparoscopic if there is any risk of cancer, but I don't know if that applies to either pcos or dermoid cysts...  The dr told me 18-20 weeks is ideal because it is when the baby is the most developed/least vulnerable and still small enough to work around.  My cyst was found at my first pregnancy ultrasound. Good luck to you!

HI,
A 6 cm cyst is large enough and may increase in size during pregnancy. Hence once the diagnosis is confirmed, a cystectomy or removal of the cyst can be planned. This can be easily done via the laparoscopic route without much problem. Consult your gynaecologist.
Hope this helps.
