My cyst is 10cm and I am due for surgery in January.
What can I expect from surgery, I want both ovays out (had a partial hysterctomy years ago)

What does your surgeon recommend about taking both ovaries? I went with my gyn's recommendation because I figured he knows way more than I do and said there is only a 5% chance of my right ovary needing to come out.

Well the surgery is Wed. So far I am still having bad stomach problems. I dont know if you have read another post of mine about my headaches. But they are real bad too. Last night I woke up with a horrid one, made from the anixity of the surgery? But I am taking anxity meds already??
Dont be ashamed of the scars, I know they are not pretty but they are not your fault! I have scars and ther is not much I can do!! I know that after some surgerys you suffer pain in your shoulders and or ribs but that only last a couple days. What does your pain feel like cuz I get a pain on only my right side not to oftern but it starts in my ribs and moves to my face and leg also. It last only an hour or so but I have not gone or seen anyone for it. It goes and stops every few minutes for that hour or so. Today my mother asked if I had decided about what I want done in the surgery, I still am not sure. I want at least one  good ovary but scared to keep it, dont want all this ever again.

Yes Snow, it was used to keep my ovaries from attaching to anything else.  My left ovary was attached to my abd wall when he went in there and removed the attachment/scar tissue.

I am pretty sure your scars will get lighter and less noticeable.  I had my gallbladder out in 2006 and can barely see the scars.  I also had my uterus out last year and those scars (2 of them) are very light now. Regarding the pain, is there a way you can get a second opinion or see a pain management doctor?

Hi I hope ur ok I wanted to tell u that I had a burst cyst on my right ovar in oct just gone and I'm still recovering. I was rushed into hospital not knowing what was wrong, 5 hrs later I woke up and docs told me they found a massive cyst on my ovary, they cut me in 5 places and one big cut. Its all healing well but since a week after the operation iv suffered with pain in my ribs and chest on the same side. The docs don't no what it is and I have been in and out of hospital for months :-( I'm very depressed and feel very alone because no one can tell me why I'm no better and what's causing these pains. The GP is happy to give me tramadol for the pain but it makes me very sleepy and to be honest its stopped helping the pain7. I'm only 26 and got no kids and feel like iv been chopped up, patched up n just sent on m way n I really don't no when this painful nightmare will end. U say u don't want ur sex drive to go but I still have my ovaries but can't even look at myself in the mirror without crying because of all the scars on my tummy and the fact that Its caused me to have all this chest pain n pain in my ribs x
