I will be thinking of you and praying you get good news.  Please let us know what is going on with you following your doctor visit.  I hope you do not have another ovary problem.  My doctor felt strongly about removing both ovaries.  He said that when one goes cystic, the other one often does as well.  I know, you don't want to hear that and I truly hope this is not what is happening!  Taking fast action is smart.  I waited a long time, not knowing I had that awful cyst.

Here's the weird thing with my story.  When I had the ultrasound, they told me the cyst was on my right ovary.  When I had the surgery, it turned out to be on my left ovary.  I still don't know how they got that detail incorrect.  So if I went in to the hospital telling them to remove just the right ovary, I hate to think that they would have removed the "good" one and left the "bad" one with the cyst inside of me.  In my case, I'm glad I told them I was there to remove both ovaries and a cyst.  They also did a full exploratory (liver, kidneys, etc.) making sure I didn't have cancer.  They tried real hard to find cancer and didn't (yay!)   I think this is why I have so much upper abdomen gas.....from the exploratory, not from the work done in the ovary areas.

MarieMichele, so glad you are progressing so well.  I was so happy with the after surgery weight loss that I kept it going.  It will stay away.  Hope that nasty gas disappears real soon for you.

Yes, I still (unfortunately as I wanted it all out) have one ovary remaining.  I'm in at the specialist tomorrow so hope to get some answers soon.

Aww.....Trudie, I'm sorry to hear you have a new health issue worrying you.  I hope it's nothing serious and will pray for a happy diagnosis for you.  Do you still have one ovary remaining?

I am midway through week 5 following laparotomy to remove both ovaries and a softball sized cyst.  I go back into the real world and my job next week.  This week is all about trying to get my personal life back.  Got the car repaired yesterday.  Getting my hair trimmed today.  May try some grocery shopping on my own, without hubby in tow with me.

As for the post-laparotomy:  Incision is nearly healed but still tender to the touch.  I still have trapped gas from the surgery (ugh!) and am getting frustrated with all the efforts to reduce it.  I can cough and sneeze without it hurting like mad (yay!).  I can get in and out of bed without it being a painful slow undertaking (yay!)  All the weight I lost following surgery is still off (yay!) and my waistline is smaller than before surgery (yay!)   I hope I can maintain those bonus features of my ordeal and get rid of the gas.  I read one person's post that said she had gas for 6 weeks...maybe next week is my gas-relief week?

I'm waiting to get into an arthritis specialist due to testing positive and having awful joint, muscle and bone pain throughout my body.  I am bloating and putting on weight too.  I've also asked my doctor to send me for an ultrasound at the end of the week as the last time I flared up like this was when I had my last cyst and it went away after my surgery.  I really just need the comfort of knowing I'm going through the cyst thing again.
