Some doctors say the stupidest things

Well after such a bad day with pain and bloating I managed to get in and see the on call doctor.  After reading the results of my ultrasound and CT scan he had the nerve to say that cysts and fibroids won't cause those kind of problems.  He thinks it might be something else and wants me to wait it out, take some tylenol 3, and go for a regular x-ray in the morning.  Arghhhh!!!!!!

I want my own doctor back from holidays!  I now know the gynecologist's name they are trying to get an appointment for me with (and he is a good one) so will have to start making the calls myself in the morning.

Thank you for all your support today.  I tried (with the healthcare group I go to you need to call them before going to emerg) and didn't get very far.  Wine again tonight!

I hope you're not reading any of this because you're too busy on the phone making that appt.

We all have seen people in the med field who just don't care.  It's just like any other field, I suppose.

Get a good one, let us know how you're doing today, and give us the good word that you've secured your appt!

love,
Donna

Trudie,
I have been told that too and it is so frustrating!!!  Almost every woman on here has had the bloating and pain.  I am so sorry that you went through that and I hope that you get some answers soon!

The way my year has been going, I think I will drink a bottle of wine tonight, for you, for me and everyone else!
Hugs,
Colleen

Sorry to hear your doctor is a butthead. Had I known all this, I would have had an extra margarita last night on your behalf.... Oh well. Next time. I hope all goes your way today though...Hang in there, keep fighting!

take care,
Joelle

What a cliche... used to be "take two aspirin and call me in the morning".. What an A**.. And when he thought "it was something else" did he bother to tell you what he "thought" it might be... .
Just make those calls and hopefully you'll get to see someone who has a clue! In the meantime,

take care.. we're thinkin of you,
Sandy

I think men shouldn't be gynecologists. Or OB's either. When I was first pregnant I had an obese OB that insisted I shouldn't gain more than 20 lbs. I looked at my tummy and thought - I'm making a baby, what's your excuse? Actually, I changed doctors and got a really nice male OB/Gyn but sometimes I think they just don't get it.
