Possibly I remember when I had mine they measured it at 10 x 7 x 6 at my first scan but then a few months later it had shrunk slightly and I remember having lots of clotty bits coming out in my periods
I had my chocolate cyst removed though as it was causing me a lot of discomfort and pain
Hi there,
I too had chocolate cysts on both ovaries. Mine just keep growing and growing and I ended up having them removed along with all my female parts. My gyn/onc suspected severe endo and said the only way to rid the endo is to remove the ovaries. I am 45, never able to have children, so it was the right decision for me. Younger women seem to have luck with just removing the cyst. Sometimes the pain is not so much from the cysts on the ovaries, but from endo in the pelvic region. My organs were all stuck to my rectum and cervix and my doc felt this is the reason I was experiencing the pain. I am like a new person now after having the procedure Oct 15th.
If your pain has subsided, why not request another ultrasound prior to your surgery to see where things are at. Heck, if you can avoid surgery, I would do it.
Good luck
