How soon should I see a Gyno?

Hi there!

I just got my results for a TVU and it said I had a fundal pedunculated fibroid which now measures 2.2cm in its maximal diameter, (3 months ago the fibroid was 2cm), which is largely unchanged. . There are multiple nabothian cysts in the cervix.

They also found a haemorrhagic follicle with some peripheral vascularity in the right ovary measuring 2.1cm in its maximal diameter. There is a small amount of physiological fluid in the Pouch of Douglas which may represent recent rupture of a follicle. There is a haemorrhagic cyst or follicle in the right ovary.

My GP said to have another TVU done in December 08 but I am wondering if I should be seeing a Gyno at this stage. I had a TVU done in April 08 and a cyst I had on my left ovary had gone, so I'm thinking maybe I should wait and see if this disappears too, I am 41. My mother has stage 4 Ovarian cancer so I am a bit more concerned than I otherwise would be.   Thanks in advance for any thoughts or suggestions you might have for me :)    Carolyn

I am sorry about ur mom i pray she is better now
it was my personal experience that gyn docs know a lil bit more than the GP's
just 1.5 months ago i was led to believe i was having another baby and now
i am having it all "plucked" instead ... but i also understood that since the GP
(family doctor here in the states) had comapratively little experience in the gyn area
(they see everything from ankle sprains to headaches) a gyn turned out to provide
more information ... just my $0.02 worth hope it helps andi pray u bet of outcomes

Are you having any pain or other symptoms?  Regardless with your family history I would be getting to the gyno just to be sure.  Peace of mind is worth so much.
