That's good. We were all new this site at one time and had to learn our way around here.
I'm so sorry to just be getting to you post. I'm glad you were able to get this all taken care of.
How is the search going for a new Dr? How have you been? Let me know when you get a chance.
I just wanted to let you know I took care of the accidental report button and I explained,it was accidental so they can disregard if,sorry again.
Thanks for the advice,I have never sent a certified letter before,I know that sounds silly but is there a form that has cc "to send copies"on it?or do you mean type one like a email and print it out?and in regards to medical society,do you mean medical board?if you could give me a example of medical societies I would appreciate it,I went to a new primary care dr. Today and before I left she typed in my date of birth and info, before she wrote ant scripts and i I know she was looking up that"list"I am now on,I feel so discriminated against now,I really want to send the certified letter if u could explain a little more,if anyone can,I would appreciate it, and thanks for listening
I don't know if u read my post to jerry,I accidentally hit report on his comment and need to take it off or cancel it,if u can help me i would appreciate it
Oh my gosh I don't know how to use this website yet,I was trying to find best answer on here and I accidentally hit "report" please tell me hoe to take it off now,I'm so sorry
Thanks I think I will do that,I feel so beaten up by these people, that I just started feeling really bad at myself but I did what I was suppose to do in the e.r. I know I did,I didn't hide anything about my pain meds,it's just hard to fight when you have been kicked down,I have had cancer,I beat it,now they found a mass in my thyroid that may be cancer,I'm having test done now,it scares me to think im gonna be looked at like a dr shopper,I need to find the name of that list my pharmacy said I'm on for 10yrs and see if I can get it removed
Tanks for responding,no I didn't get down at the pharmacy,I was in the car we just went through the drive thru,i couldn drive,I don't know why the pharmacy even filled it,I know the owner and he knows what I take, but he wasn't there,he did write a note to my dr that kicked me out saying he has to fill all or nothing from the e.r. But if would have known the 18. Hydrocodone was on there I wouldn't have filled it,and what really looks bad is,I take care of my 78yr old mother and she went through my prescriptions to see what i needed to take cause I was out of it,she was just trying to care for me,and when she saw it she asked me about it,I said I knew nothing about those pills being in there,I know the dr just got busy and forgot I told him I was in pain mgnt, but she got mad about it and before I knew it she was in the bathroom flushing it down the toilet, she regrets it now,all I had to do was bring it to my dr.but she is a retired police ofc.and she does not like keeping prescriptions in the house especially if your not taking them,my dr wasn't going to kick me out at all but the diagnostic group had done it without my dr. Knowing it,you have to understand what I took was a lot stronger than Hydrocodone and I would have never filled that script,I had been with my dr for 6yrs,but this new group that he contracted with are strict, and I showed them the copies of my e.r records, stating I told them what I was suppose to.but they said they didn't know if I sold those pills or not,I was offended.i have never dr shopped, been arrested for drugs,I just don't know how to get my name removed from that list that I'm on,i tried to get into another dr but I'm being rejected and treated like a criminal,my dr was writing me 150 OxyContin, yeah that's to much,I tried to ask him before if I could get off and change to something that's not as strong,I was told I may not be able to get off of this,at all but they had no trouble kicking me out and not worrying how I was gonna do detoxing, but this happened in October and I still have some left cause I never took 5 a day,I have just been slowly weaning off.
The first and main question, did you take any of the pills and if not, did you return them to the pharmacy?
If a family member was the one who picked your prescriptions up that could be on record. The pharmacist may even remember that it was not you but a family member. I know how they write prescriptions at hospitals. They're usually all on one page or two pages so if you're out of it from the intravenous medications or shots they gave you in the hospital it can be easy to over look what they've prescribed.
I think it's absolutely ridiculous that they let you go because of this. It was an emergency. Kidney stones can cause excruciating pain and you need extra medication for a few days.
Those contracts can be crazy. Apparently the ER Dr knows how very much a kidney stone hurts or he would have never written that script.
You did nothing wrong. Things can get complicated at hospitals. You can see several different people and things can get over looked. Which is what I think happened in your case.
Do what the above poster said. Do everything you can. This was not your fault, it was a mistake made by the hospital.
How are you supposed to walk in to the pharmacy when you just left the hospital for kidney stones?
I'm so very sorry this happened to you. If you fight it and explain what happened to every single person involved I think everything will turn out alright.
We're here to listen, help and support you anyway we can. Please keep us up to date on how all this is going.
That's just insane, this system they have everybody on.
I truly empathise with you. Bunch of Bee-Ess for sure!
I would send a CERTIFIED letter with COPIES (where you put "CC" on the bottom and write COPY across the top) to:
1.) Your pain management doctor
2.) The OWNER of the pain management clinic
3.) The HOSPITAL DIRECTOR/ADMINISTRATOR
4.) The ER Manager
5.) The Doctor at your ER that prescribed
6.) randomly pick 2 or 3 or 4 Medical Board Societies
7.) A congressman in your district
And in the letter, clearly write a calm, clear letter about what happened. Before you send it, have a legal professional review it to make sure you don't get yourSELF into trouble.
Good god, what are you supposed to do writhing in pain with a kidney stone at the ER and you're supposed to be remembering some contract!?!
I'm mad at the medical establishment.
I wish you well!
Yes, they do put all prescriptions on one or two pages now. It's not like it used to be where you would get one for every single script. Your regular pharmacist was not the one who filled them. And why in the world do these DRs think any of us would ever sell our medications?!!! It's so hard for any of us to get them and most of us are under medicated so it makes no sense that we would sell them. I have no insurance so I have to pay full price for my meds. They are costly! I'm under medicated and I couldn't make much money selling them even if I did have extra. Just giving you a for instance case. All of us know that's it's illegal to sell our medications and I know all of us here would never do such a thing. But, these Drs seem to think we are out selling them. Of course you would be offended. What really upsets me is that you went in for a kidney stone which is so very painful. I guess no one at the pain clinic has ever had that kind of pain or they would have allowed you more medication for a few days. I'm glad you had some extra or you would be detoxing really bad right now. My Dr only gives me 4 per day and they are low dose. They only last for 4 hours so by the evening I've taken my whole days worth and have 12 more hours before I can take another one. Another reason I hate these laws. My Dr keeps saying her hands are tied and that's all she can prescribe. I know I'm lucky to even be getting treatment. I can't tell you how sorry I am for everything you've been through. No, apparently they do not care about taking you off your meds cold turkey. Isn't it in every Drs contract that they have to sign to do no harm? Yes it is. Get started on everything today, right away. While you're doing all of this keep calling pain specialists to see if they will take you as a patient. You may have to make many, many calls before you find one but don't give up. You're not a Dr shopper. You've been kicked out of pain management and now you're forced to find another Dr as soon as possible. Again, do what Jerry suggested, keep things direct and to the point. I'm so sorry for the very long post. Please keep us up to date on what's happening.I'm going to send you a private message if that's alright.
