Hi Medicalneeded,
A tardy Welcome to MedHelp's Pain Management Forum. I am not sure this is the right forum for your question but everyone is Welcome here.
As Ghilly wisely said you post is vague.
What diagnosis do you have that requires surgical intervention? ... or are you assuming the worse?
I hope you'll share more with us.
Peace,
~Tuck
Your post is pretty vague as far as details go. Is there something going on that would lead you to believe that it would even NEED surgery? The majority of things that cause us pain do not have to be surgically corrected, they just need medication or treatment of some sort to straighten them out. Unfortunately, you're not going to know what it is until you go get it looked at. As far as surgery goes, just because a doctor says that it needs surgery to correct it does not mean that you have to go through with it right away (or even at all if you think you can live with it), unless it's life threatening. It would be your call as to whether you chose to go with that doctor or found another doctor to get a second opinion or even a third opinion.
