Happy New Year to you, Sandee and all our Members!
A few of us discussed this on the Social Community. It use to be a party out or a party at our home but those days are gone. Maybe you all know that Wisconsin is a traditional "drinking" state. Beer and brats can be found every where..even for breakfast. My "drinking has gone to Cola. Again this year it is popcorn and movies at home but after the scallops and shrimp scampi dinner.
I think this may also be a Wisconsin thing but at midnight (if I am up) we bang pots and pans together. Makes a heck of a racket!! But we have done that since I was a little girl.
What ever your tradition may be or where ever you are I'm wishing you all a very safe, healthier and Happy New Year!!!

I too have given up the usual midnight champagne for Pepsi. With our medications it is very unwise and unsafe to drink alcohol so the Pepsi or sparkling grape juice will have to do.
I am sure everyone knows not to drink while taking medications but I wanted to make sure. Better safe than sorry.
The sparkling grape juice is very good and they do make a non alcoholic champagne too.
here at our house new years eve dinner we had oyster stew.. and for new years day we will have are tradtional pork and saurkraut for dinner
Happy New Year! May 2009 be less painful. We eat black eyed peas and collard greens for good luck. I grew up in a small town and we use to ring the church bell at midnight. I miss that. Good luck to eveyone for 2009 and beyond.
Black Eyed Peas....Yuk.....SURF AND TURF. It started with my Dad making it for my Mom, Brother and I. I have continued the tradition. I made it for my family for years and now the kids are grown and gone so I make it for my Husband and I. He doesn't like the Lobster so I give him most of my steak and take all his lobster. This year was somewhat diferent. We attended a Fondue party with all the meat, seafood, cheeses and veggies one could imagine. There was also a chocolate fountian. I gained 10lbs. last night.
