Itching

I am itching like crazy. It started this past weekend. I have been taking Benadryl and it helped a lot at first, but doesn't seem to be helping as much any more. I'm trying to cut back on the meds to see if that will help. I'm thinking about calling my doctor this morning. Other than calling my doctor, any suggestions?
Thanks!

Thanks - I haven't been able to get up with the doctor's office, yet. I feel like it's the medication, but I haven't changed anything. My SCS trial ended last Thursday and myh pain level is up so I've incrteased the meds a little, but nothing's chnaged. Cutting back seeems to help some and the Benadryl seems to help some - I just feel like I'm having to choose between managing the pain or managing the itching.

Hey Tanglewood,

I think you are doing all the right things. Daily baths (I'm sure you do this anyway) followed by a good non-fragrant lotion can help also.

Have you introduced any new medications, soaps, lotions, fabric softener, foods or similar products to your environment recently? Sometimes you can never get to the reason for itching and it goes as quickly as it comes. There are some medications that this is a normal side-effect.

Please let us know what your physician has to say. Don't scratch too much and as always take care. Tuck
