Hi everyone,
I'm a 32 years old female university student in canada. I've been sick for over 2 years but at first I was treated for PTSD (which I do have) and then the pain arrived and in a matter of about 3 months it was soo painful and unbereable that my GP gave me at first tylenol 3 and moved slowly to what I've been taking for almost 2 months non-stop hydromorphone Contin 18 mg twice a day and inbetween these doseI take 6-8 mg of dilaudid 4-5 times a day to control the pain. 2 weeks ago it was discovered that I suffer from adrenal insufficiency so I now take cortisone.
I take a bunch of other pill, anti-depressant, lyrica, naproxen, etc.
My GP isin't letting go of me, she sees me once a month, I've passed an MRI, all the blood test possible, bone tests .I will be seeing the endocrinologist also but the freaking pain isin't going away. I was an A+ student, now I can barely attend, make it comprehend. I don't want to take dilaudid for the rest of my life. :-( I now have a lot of muscle jerks, I read that it's because of the dilaudid. it's annoying but because I take almost 30 pills a day iff I count the dilaudid, I prefer not to take another one. ;-)
The positive side of knowing about the adrenal insufficiency is that with the cortisone now I am able to take walk again on good days and bend down. So everyday I go for a walk, I'm thankful for that.
I know I'm a mess and I probably wasn't very clear but I would like your opinion on my dilaudid dose, do I take a lot? I'm worried. I'm 32 and I feel that fibromyalgia has stolen my life. :-(
