masshealth prior authorization and early refills

I receive masshealth, and was approved for prior authorization for my opiate meds ( I have cancer) and though I was approved thru March 20 2015 , the last script I brought in to fill on March 2nd wasn't approved for prior authorization and pharmacist told me I needed my oncologist to fill out a new prior authorization...she said it had something to do with early pickups ( occasionally I picked up scripts a day or two early , what does this mean ? I'm assuming when masshealth approved me it doesn't necessarily go by the date , but approves for a certain quantity in the 6 months that I was approved for ...is this correct?

Ask your pharmacist -- he/she will know the rules in your state. This is why pharmacies have that little consultation window -- so that you can speak privately about sensitive subjects.

Also, get your doctor's office working on that prior auth now so that it is approved before you need your next refill.

I wish I could help you figure this out but I'm not sure.
Did you call your Dr to find out if he knew what was going on? I take it he gave you the paper prescription and that's what you took to the pharmacy?
I'm sorry but I've never heard of Masshealth. Is this a type of insurance? If so, this is most likely the problem. They do not want to pay for early refills.
We have some wonderful and very knowledgeable members on this forum. I'm pretty sure one of them will be able to help you with this.
I do hope you can get everything straightened out very soon.
