Relate to the thigh pain waking me in the night.
I know of no pain killer other for me to just move down the stairs.
Normally any movement does something but if it fails I do go to the ice on the thigh treatment

You said you were a young female but didn't give your age. I'm wondering if you might be having growing pains. Many young people go through this pain when they have a growth spurt.
Another thing that comes to mind is low potassium. That can cause cramps and pain in the calves and legs. Bananas, oranges and potatoes all have potassium so try eating more of these foods to see if it helps. If not, you should either see your Dr again or get a second opinion from another Dr.

Know exactly what you mean
I am fortunate in that the pain normally puts me to sleep

My mother always said I was the perfect baby, all he does is sleep.
I quit moving my eyes close still.. lol
