Do Not Fill Until

Just a quick description of my problem, I have cervical and lumbar problems. Degenerative Disk Disease
and Spinal Stenosis with associated perlonged elevated CK levels and muscle atrophy in the right calf. Burning Pain is centered in the right hamstring along with partial numbness.

I've had a microdisctomy surgery in late '07 with no improvement. Since the surgery I am expriencing back pain due to epidural firbosis around the surgical area.

I've been to the best doctors at Hopkins with no resolution.

Here's my question: I have a refill prescription that already has been handed into my pharmacy
with a "Do Not Fill Until 9/27/09" That is Sunday. My pharmacy is closed on Sunday's. So I called them this past Monday and asked if I could come in and pick them up on Sat. She put me on hold for about 3 mins and came back and said that would be no problem.

Should I expect to get my Avinza and Percocet on Saturday or did she make a mistake? The pharmacy is closed on Sunday's and they do have my original prescription for a month now

I'm happy to hear that you were able to obtain your refill. It can be frightening to think you may have to struggle a day or worse yet, several days without the medications that help us function.

Thanks for letting us know.

If they told you they would fill it one day early they should stick to their word. Did you ask for the name of the person that told you that?

Here's what I would do. I would call again to clarify what time you can pick them up on Saturday. That's a legitimate question. Ask for her/his name and if they will be there on on that date, the 26th. If they inform you that it will be someone else that ask that the pharmacist leave written instructions confirming that your RX can be filled on the 26th. You will avoid a lot of confusion if the staff changes on Saturday.

Good luck and please let us know how this turns out for you.

Take Care,

HI:

You should be able to pick up anything that is due on the 27th. Even the opiates. :)
