What happened to my post

I posted to someone who sounded like she had a lot of experience with pain and knew alot about pain managment. The person I posted to I think it got lost because I don't see a reply or anything indicating she got the post. It was pretty long too, and I wanted to hear from her. Her user name was something like ahanamama.
Has anyone seen this?

Lori:  I'm glad we connected! I have several thoughts based on what you wrote - first and foremost, you're not a Hypochondriac, anything but.  Your list of disorders is more than enough to qualify you for the level of concern you have.  Let's tackle some of your issues.  1)  Stomach pain.  It's probably the NSAID/acetaminophen that's causing the problem. Raising the scrip to 750 mg of acetaminophen is the worst thing that the doc probably could have done.  I'd ask if you could switch to 7.5/325 (7.5 mg vicodin, 325 mg acetaminophen).  If he/she wont do that, try asking for anti-nausea meds, called Antiemetics, next time you see either your primary care or pain doc.  You're not alone finding pain meds nauseating and there are several remedies for that.  2)  Overall pain/Fibromyalgia.  You gloss over Fibro so quickly, mention so many other sources of pain, yet make no connection.  Do you realize that Fibro can be accompanied by foot pain?  Back pain?  Iritable Bowel Syndrome/Gastro Esophogeal(sp) Reflux ?  The list is almost endless.  Are you being properly treated for your Fibro?  In particular, do you have sleep issues and, if so, are you doing something about them?  Have you learned to say "NO" to those around you?  Are you a type A personality that does everything for others, but little for yourself?  Those are all characteristics of Fibro women (myself included) and just changing those things can make all the difference in the world!  3)  Finally, you need to list to yourself, your body, and not always to what the doctor says.  "bulging" then "hurniated". Hypocondriac - I bet it was a doc that gave you that idea.  So many of us have been told negative things by our doctors that hang over us like a black clouds.  In many cases, they were situations that the Doctor found themselves unable to answer.  Instead of admitting to their lack of perfection, we're told "it's in our head's", "go see a psychiatrist".  If they can't define it, it doesn't exist.  Keep asking until you feel its resolved. Look for a new doc. who thinks like you do.  Who speaks like you want them to.  I happen to have good insurance, but have the same problem you do with distance or lack of doctors in my area.  I live on an island, in a state made up of islands.  I have to get on an airplane for a day trip to see one of my docs.  If I had a serious psych emergency, the only psych hospital I'd go to is back in California.  But all of that came about because of 10 years of searching for what I'm most comfortable with and accepting only what works for me.  I no longer seek diagnosis for every issue -- I only seek comfort.  What it's called, why it happened or what it will be someday is far less important than what I need to do now to take care of it and feel comfortable with it.  I hope I haven't rambled too much and that you've found some of this helpful.  Let me know if there is anything else I can do.  Take care of yourself -- remember, there's really no one else will.

Hi Tricia,
Thanks for getting back to me. I take it you didn't get my post then. I think what I did was, I had my arrow on your user name and it shows if you want to send a message, note, or be a friend, I clicked on that, so I don't know what happened to it. I was afraid to do that again, so I just put in post comment. I don't use this site often, so I don't know what I'm doing.
Anyway, I saw one of your post replying to someone else and I related to some of what you are going through. I thought you sounded like you had a lot of good advise.
I have chronic pain that started in 2000 with a herniated disk. I had surgery that year on my lower back L-4, and in 2004 had surgery again for another herniated disk L-5.
In 2006 I had a bulging disk in my cervical spine, the doc actually told me it was a herniated disk and said he didn't want to do surgery yet. The following year, still having pain he told me I had a bulging disk. I could not understand how a herniated disk could turn into a bulging disk. I stop going to him, he had no bedside manners whatsoever. So now I'm seeing a pain managment doc which was referred to by my primary doc. My insurance ***** so I have to pick and choose who I go to, and now I have to travel about 60 miles to see my pm doc. I'm also on 40mg of oxycotin and 7.50 vicodin for breakthrough pain. I think the oxy works but I don't like the vicodin. I have been having stomach pain, burning and nausea. So I have to see my primary doc on monday. Well to end the story I basically have pain all over my body now, my legs hurt from my back pain which I recently was diagnosed with spinal stenosis. I have feet problems, I have carpol tunnel in both hands, which I think stems from my upper back, I have terrible pain in my neck and head at times where it causes nausea. I have fibromyalgia and bursitis.  Thats my story, I'm sorry I must sound like a real hypocondriac. I do think I turned into one since all this started.
Oh, I think I asked you in the other post if you think I could be having a reaction to the vicodin, because of my stomach problems. I wanted my doc to give me something else for breakthrough pain but he just upped my vicodin to 750mg of acedametaphine (can't spell that). I just don't think it works that well.
Thanks for listening to my long drawn out story.
Have a good day.

Lori25:  I think I'm the person you're looking for.  My name is Tricia, but I go by OhanaMama (in Hawaiian, Ohana = Family).  I'm not Hawaiian by blood, but am in spirit.  I now live on the Big Island, and have for three years.  I was born in Chicago and started coming here in the mid '60's, when I was 5-6 years old.  In the early '90's I moved to San Diego, met my husband, had a beautiful daughter, became ill immediately after her birth.  In 2000 was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, in 2001 contracted viral meningitis, in January 2002 had to retire and file for disability and the rest is history!  The meningitis left me with significant pain from a chronic migraine 7/24/365; add in the Fibro agony and I find myself knowing far more than I want to about pain. Those are only two of about 15 conditions I have been diagnosed with.  What is your story?  What are your concerns?  Can I be of assistance to you?  Send me another note at OhanaMama.  I'd love to speak with you!  Tricia

Hi Lori:

Did you post this as a personal message to her or post it on this forum?? Personal message will go directly into her box and you should be able to see it in you inbox.
Other than that, things have been known to get lost here. Re-post it if all else fails.
