Actually prescription ibuprofen comes in different dosages, including 600 and 800 mg. However, a 15 foot fall is very significant and he needs to be checked by a doctor to make sure there's no internal damage. Things don't always show right away. They'll also be able to give him better pain medication if necessary.
Why doesn't he want to go to the ER? If it's a question of insurance, they have free care or the homeowner's insurance may cover it (though I wouldn't necessarily go through my homeowner's as your rates may go up.)
HI, Thank you for replying to my post. He has been taking the ibuprofen and it seems to be helping. I will mention to him that he should decrease the dosage. As for the wrapping where the swelling immediately started, that will be a bit difficult as the only swelling that occurred was on his low butt check, upper thigh area. It is now all black and blue but he his walking around a bit with a slight limp. There doesn't seem to be any pain anywhere else. I would prefer to have him checked out at the ER but he is subborn and everything seems to be ok minus a little pain and swelling. Thanks again for your help and hope you have a great day.
