I take Norco 7.5/325 so that I can break them in half and take an additional tylenol with it if I need to. My Dr. was only comfortable giving me two pain pills to take a day so I asked for 7.5's so I could do this...that way I could break them in half and take pain meds three to four times a day and cover myself all day. It inly takes the edge off, but it's all I can do right now. The last time I went in they said not to do that and to take the whole pill in the morning and then in the evening - I said, "well then I couldn't function from noon to six." The NP shrugged her shoulders. Awesome. Thanks. -sigh-

The difference between Norco and Lortab is the amount of acetiminephen.  The Norco only has .325 where as the Lortab has 500 of it.  They BOTH have Hydrocodone NEITHER one has ANY codeine!!!   It just depends on which one your Doctor orders for you.  The Norco has sht MOST Hydrocodone - 10.  Whereas the Lortab that you mentioned has 7.5 - Hydrocodone.

Just remember the this is HYDROCODONE and NOT Codeine. :)  The reason I know this is because I've been on both of these exact meds.  I have ALWAYS been allergic to Codeine and therefore that's why I know.  I was on the Lortab for 7 years and switched to the Norco for 5 months and NOW I'm on the Percocet since I'm immune to the Hydrocodone.

Goos Luck and hope this helped you better.  :)........Sherry

Strength? Different medical compounds? Both contain tylenol, the lortab has more, therefore you cant take as much of it. But the lortab also has less codeine.

In my personal expierence, they both affected me differently. Norco worked, lortab did not. But i believe they're supposed to be made up of very similar compounds.

just remember, the number in the front is the amount of codeine (the stronger medicine that offers relief for more intense pain) and the number after the dash is the amount of tylenol in it.  And with that, you have to abide by the tylenol restriction of ...4000mgs a day. Dont quote me on that, but i do believe it's 4000.  So for every pill you take, you have to take into account your tylenol intake.

In My Personal Opinion.  Before i had to move onto stronger medications, Norco 10-325's worked wonders for me.

Hope i was of some help.
