I am glad you updated us. I have been wondering how you are doing. And I am even happier that you will be seen at the Pain Clinic. I hope that appointment will be soon. I am guessing that they will do some med changes if you are still so very uncomfortable.
It is strange that EMG's don't always reveal the entire picture but they don't. It is good that she has ordered an Ultrasound. Hopefully this will be a more complete diagnostic tool. They will be able to review more structures than just your nerves which will give them a "better look."
Again please let us know how you are doing. I will be interested to hear if the US reveals more than the EMG has given her. Take care, Tuck
Thanks to all of you who responded.
I am currently taking Nerontin or Glabapentin. I was taking 800mg 3 times a day and Percecid 1 - 2 a day. I was in extreeme pain last Friday and went into the doctor. She increased my Nerontin to 5 times a day and has me taking 2 of the 512 percecid every 4-6 hours. It only just takes the edge off the burning enough I can function. The doctor has signed me up for Pain Management since I have been dealing with this for over a year.
She is having me get some ultrasound readings to check my blood flow as the nerve tests showed nothing wrong. We will see how it goes from there. I don't like taking the pain meds but it has come down to the only way I can cope with the pain. Thanks again for all your words of concern and wisdom.
I have diabetic neuropath. I have taken Lyrica for the nerve pain, and for me it was miraculous. I could walk again, swimm, didn't hurt. II have had to quit taking it because of the cost, but neurontin is going to be my next try. There are several meds out there. Good luck finding the right one for you

Hello Gryphone,
Welcome to the Pain Management Forum of MedHelp. I am glad you found us. I am sorry you are experiencing burning pain. And yes there are many of us that have that burning pain.
A burning pain is generally related to nerve involvement, usually damage, inflammation or pressure on the nerves. I assume you are being treated with Gabapentin or a similar medication to treat your nerve pain. If you are not be treated please discuss this with your PCP.
Please let us know how you are doing and take care, Tuck
