I bet you tore your ACL that will cause your knee to snap back buckle like. I have torn my ACL and you have to have surgery to fix this so get to a dr right away and get it xrayed ASAP

Hi Katie,

Welcome to the Pain Management Forum. I am very familiar with Lifeguard Training. There are no squats or heavy leg lifting involved with the training... however and obviously there is a lot of swimming and similar activity.

If you are experiencing pain now... it will probably only increase so please consult your PCP. Many ppl do not realize the tremendous responsibility that is in-trusted to a lifeguard. In many situations you are true life-savors. You'll need a well body to perform the demans of this position. Please consult your PCP.

I cannot guess if you have a torn meniscus or a ligament or similar problem. But I can guess that you will need this knee to function at it's best no matter what you do. Getting to the bottom of your pain is important.

Best of luck to you.
