Sounds like you're going to have to see your doctor on this one. There's no telling whether the cause is orthopedic or internal without an exam and some tests. Since you also have fever, please don't wait to get it checked out.
If you've been taking a lot of over-the-counter pain medication, check the dosing instructions on the packages. People do a whole lot of harm to themselves by taking too much of these medications and trying to self-treat pain. I've seen it myself with my mother who thought because they weren't prescription meds, she could take as much as she wanted. She destroyed her stomach lining and bled to death this year after taking over 20 advil a day for Lord only knows how many years. Just a word to the wise. I'd hate to see that happen to anyone else, so call your doctor tomorrow. :-)
I agree with you running a fever you really need to get it check out. Pain and a fever is your bodies way of telling you something just isn't right. Call your dr asap so you can get checked out.
Best of luck to you
Jamie
Hi Bunnydoll: I'd like to welcome you to the Pain Management forum. While we're not doctors we do have some very medically savvy people here.
I agree with Jamie and Jaybay. You should see a doctor. Pain and fever are the ways your body lets you know that something is wrong. So please have this checked out.
And Jaybay is absolutely correct about the OTC meds. I gave myself an ulcer by over use of Ibuprofen for neck pain. So do be careful. Too much Tylenol can destroy your liver.
So please see your doctor and let us know how you're doing. Please keep posting and asking any questions you have on your mind. Welcome.
