Arachnoid Cyst versus Epilepsy

My son has been diagnosed with Epilepsy due to seizures, however he also has an Arachnoid Cyst on his right frontal lobe. His neurologist won't even consider the draining procedure, he says there's not enough science to prove any connection between the two. He placed my son on Trileptal, which in my opinion has changed the way my son performs in school, hinders his memory, and acts like an ADHD type of calming medicine. My son had zero behavior problems prior to the medication. My concern is that our doctor is pushing the cyst under the rug. If the cyst is getting progressivley worse, then I want it to be treated as soon as possible. I have started to look into doctors outside of our insurance at this point and possibly go directly to a Childrens' hospital as they assure the cyst draining procedure is fast and fairly simple. Any and all help in this regard will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
