5 weeks pregnant saw the sac but no baby

Hi, I am 5 weeks pregnant.  The vaginal ultrasound showed a sac, but no baby.  Is is too early to show a baby?

Oh, I know how sad and worrisome it is not to see the baby at 5 weeks.  You will probably see it when you are 7 weeks.  Will you let me know on this discussion when you see the baby?  I don't know why docs are trying to ultrasounds on us so early.

You will probably know for sure in 2 weeks.  All you can do is hope for what you want,  but be prepared for extra babies.  I look at someone like you with envy.  Having alot of children will be overwhelming, but wonderful.  You will be a good mommy and have a house filled with joy and laughter.

Keep me posted and try to think of the positives.

I'm 5 weeks pregnant today and went for ultrasound.  The doctor couldn't see how many babies.  He said it's too early to see anything.  But it could be 4 or 5, but at my age, that may not happen.  I'm so scared.  We only want 1 or 2 babies, that's it.  Is it possible to see that many but not all will be babies??  I don't know what this means.

Hi Athena_M!
I am new in  this site.It is very helpfull. I was reading your worries after you have done yourr first ultrasound. I know how it feel after all ansiety of seen you baby a profissional (doctor or nurse) endup telling you that there is no baby. I am right now living  exactly the same experience you had. Knowing that finally you saw your precious baby gave me a lot hope about my next ultrasound. I'm 5 weeks and my doctor already is making me feel so concerned about. She made me feel so bad with her comment about ungrown baby, empty sac, no heart beating and so on... Anyway, God knows...
Hopely everything keep going good. I'm really happy for u.
