3 months late, negative blood and urine tests now 3 positive hpts. pregnant?

My last period was dec 12th, 12011. After my first missed period I took an hpt and it was negative. Went to the doctor and did a urine test and it was negative. Two weeks later went back to the doctor and did a blood test, negative. Waited another 2 weeks (I was now 2 months late) got another blood test and negative again. So I gave up hope thought I was just not having my period. About 2 weeks ago I started getting cramps and thought my period was finally coming but nothing. Then my boobs started to hurt and I was getting headaches. I couldn't sleep and felt a little naseaus. I also had gained some weight. I was now 3 months late. My husband and best friend kept telling me I was pregnant but I thought it wasn't possible. Finally 2 days ago I took a test... it was positive! I didn't believe it so I took 2 more, both positive. I have a doctors appointment Tuesday but I am nervous that I'm not pregnant even tho I have all those symptoms. Could all those tests have been wrong? Has this happened to anyone before??

The other tests weren't wrong. A blood test can't be wrong. You probably were ovulating and had obviously had sex around that time so a period that was due to come (was probably going to be 2/3 months but still show) then hasn't because you conceived. Obviously because you've not had a period in months they'll most likely use that December one to date your pregnancy until you get an ultrasound to confirm your dates, but you're probably at least 6-8 weeks I would reckon.

You're wrong. I've heard of a lot of women that didn't get positive pregnancy tests (via hpt or blood test) until 3-4 months preg. Some even longer! And there's women who have periods (well not actual periods, but bleeds that mimic periods) all through their pregnancies. Look up Cryptic pregnancy... 1 in 450 women don't know they're pregnant until 20 weeks. Please check your facts before you leave people advice :)

It's definitely possible to miss some periods then end up pregnant. I did. My last period was July 27, but I didn't conceive until September. I skipped one period, ovulated the next month when I was supposed to and came up pregnant. I'm 28 weeks 4 days now. By my last period I should be 32 weeks 4 days.

I was a little late...like a week and had a little spotting and some INTENSE tummy pain. I went to the ER ans they did a urine test, blood test,  CT scan AND an x ray....and nothing. Then a week later,bam. I was 6 weeks along and have had a healthy pregnancy!

Totally possible ..my last period was in may n in november I found out I was 4 weeks pregnant ..it happens! And I only took preg test because I had cramps really sore boobs n headaches and was exhausted but never got my period .. Let us know how dr appt goes.

Thanks for your answers! I went to the dr yesterday and I am between 4 and 6 weeks pregnant. My ob appointment isn't until april 6th so I'll have to wait for a more definite due date. Yay for being pregnant tho! Can't wait!

thank you so much for you post i was three weeks late took the hpt and it was negative started bleeding a few days later with intense cramps but less than half the blood of my normal cycle and alot less than half the time about a week later and in the foolowing weeks until the blood test i did about ten and four positives, but the positives only came with first morning pee if im pregnant i would be around 3 months but i had a blood test done a week ago and it was negative i don't understand my stomachs growing my stretch are stretching im crazy emotional and i feel things in my stomach i have never felt before. my boyfriend has a two year old and swears im pregnant my breasts feel bruised and their poping out of every bra i own, and even commercials make me cry ive never been so sensitive before. im so confused and i just wanna know whats going on any advice you could give would be greatly appreciated thanks for taking the time to read this sincerely i need answers

This is happenning to me now last period was december 7th took a urine test in the er after feeling pulled muscle like pains and not pregnant took three blood test feom jan to feb and all negative!! Until last week march 7th took 2 hpts and results were positive!! It was hard for me to believe so march 11 brought another hpt different brand and it came out positive as well i wonder how far along did ariel ( the original poster) was after the socs appt. if thy count from my last period ill be three months until i get an actual ultrasohnd done :)))

That's exactly the same as me! My last period was December 12, 2012. Haven't had my period since. I kept getting negative results on the hpt's, until Saturday a couple few days ago. I took 3 tests just to be sure. I'm about 6 weeks along. I have an appointment with my ob/gyn April 3! :D

Hello my name is Dena i am 25 years old and a mother of 2 both of my pregnancy's never showed up till i was 3 months pregnant i never had my period have the pee test from the store neg the one from the dr's neg the blood test neg after three months i took a test and it was pos i went for my ultrasound and i was indeed pregnant from my last period i was three months when it finally showed up hope this helps...

My last period was Jan 10, 1013. March 6 & 7 got faint positive HPT with first resonse. March 8 took clearblue digital and it said pregnant! Started spotting that day, then bled thru the night (nothing like a notmal period) no abdominal pain or anything but went to ER to make sure everything was ok. They did a urine test and it came back negative. (I read somewhere that if blood is in the urine it will give a negative result??) Dr checked my cervix and it was high and closed?? When bleeding, doesnt it drop and open?? Got bloodwork done on March 12 and xame back negative.. I feel pregnant, my tummy is hard and round and i am a week and a half late for my period. Is it all in my head or could the blood test have been wrong??

I had a similar situation happens took plenty of home tests and even a blood test all negative but then 2 months later went to the hospital and i was pregnant. Even my doctor was shocked about it. Anything is possible but congratulations!!!!!!

It sounds like this happens more than people know, hey?? I havent taken another test as Im afraid of getting a negative result! How far along were you when you found out?? At the time of the begative blood test, Dr dated me at 7 weeks (according to Jan 10 as LMP) is that late enough in the pregnancy to get a positive blood test??

So I am now 12 days late.. Took a pregnancy test on the 17th but it was negative. If still havent recieved period or positive test by Friday, im going to make a doctors appointment. Has this happened to anyone else??

My last period was may 2013, nothing since then. I am sure I am pregnant . my stomach has grown in size, I am tired and nauseated through the day . and I just feel pregnant. broke down and took a hpt test. got a negative result have a doctors appointment on thursday, not sure what to expect from that. so stressful

I am so glad I am not along; I thought I was making this up. I have not seen my period for 2 months now, and I have always been regular. The tests keep coming up negative; I think I’ll just wait until it shows. The people at the doctor’s office are looking at me like I’m too desperate and I am not, I just wanted to know. the Nurse said "there is no way you pregnant". I don't even want to go there anymore.

I am a little more than 2 weeks late now. I have been feeling tired, nauseous, cranky. craving A1 sauce and hot peppers, milky white discharge, horny, constipation and then diarreah, dizzy, bloating, mild period cramps and the cramps I get when I'm ovulating, crying like all the time and people have commented that I look different..in a good way. But alas..2 negative hpts, negative Dr urine test and now this morning just received news of a negative blood test. So I now have an appt for an ultrasound in about 2 weeks to see what is going on. Also the Dr tested my thyroid which came out normal. I'm really really confused...I have basically been pmsing for about a month and a half straight  with no spotting even..and it's driving me mad. Every morning I wake up feeling like I have my period and when I wipe..absolutely not even a trace of blood. Could I possibly be pregnant? Or am I reaching? I would welcome my period at this point because I want my cycle back to normal so I can try again.

I AM IN THE SAME BOAT! THANK GOD IM NOT ALONE! IVE BEEN GETTING IRREGULAR PERIODS SINCE AUGUST. I GOT IT ON JULY 4, AUG 16 AND SEPTEMBER 26 AND STILL NOTHING TIL DATE. I CALLED MY DR OFFICE AND HE ADVISED ME THAT I NEEDED TO GET BLOOD WORK DONE. I CALLED HIM TO KNOW THE RESULTS, THE PREGNANCY TEST WAS NEGATIVE. HE STATS THAT I HAVE A HORMONE DISBALANCE. WHATEVER THAT IS. BUT I DONT TRUST HIM BECUASE HE IS GIVING ME VERY DIFFERENT ANSWERS EVERYTIME I CALL. I RECENTLY CHANGED HIM AND AM GOING IN AGAIN THIS MONTH TO ANOTHER NEW DR THAT IS WELL KNOWN BY MANY FRIENDS AND THEY SAY HE IS GREAT. IM CURRENTLY ABOUT 51 DAYS SINCE MY LAST MENSTRAL CYCLE. I JUST BEGAN WITH CRAMPS TODAY, MY BREASTE HURT SINCE 3 DAYS AGO ALREADY. IM SOOOOO CONFUSED!

Oh thank goodness. I have been posting on here for days trying to see if anyone else has had a similar situation as me: 23 years old and had my last period in November and have taken several home pregnancy tests that say negative but cant get in to see my doc til march since I have no proof of being prego other than a gut feeling and my mother telling me that I am (you know moms they just know). But it comforts me to see that there are other women out there who don't seem to have a positive test til a bit later in.

I took over 8 home pregnancy tests in the course of a month and all were negative after my first missed period.  Then I went to a Dr. to administer a blood test two weeks later (1.5 months) to see if it would register pregnant, because I had every symptom in the book, and still resulted in a negative outcome; so I gave up trying for two weeks.  My aunt had just passed away and I had just tied the knot all within a few weeks of one another, so stress was definitely a possible factor for missing a period.  But after (now two months) of missing a period, I was sitting in my room looking at my previous period dates and charting regularity of every 28 days for quite some time, I saw my cycle would have hit three days prior. I was still feeling all the symptoms and at this point more stomach bloating and gas.  So I got two more home pregnancy test from the store, and took one that night and one again in the a.m. to confirm what I saw...they were both positive.  Turns out I was not crazy and was pregnant the whole time; my hormones were so out of whack I never tested until 8-9 wks. after I missed my period.  There is hope and I am proof that a cryptic pregnancy is not far fetched by any means.  Your baby knows how to survive going undetected for a length of time during stressful situations as a survival mechanism, and starts to produce the hormones later than the "supposed norm" of two weeks from ovulation.  I don't care who says that these stories are false it is not possible, it is called science and I have medical proof that it happened.
