Strange Period or Implantation Bleeding?

Hello! My last period was May 5th, and since then I've traveled out of the country and have been on anti-malaria medicine for prevention. What I believe is hopefully my period started off black/brown, and kinda looked like coffee grounds, and then it stopped for a day, then turned into reddish brown blood. It is a small amount on a pad, but fills up a tampon, and only in the shower did I notice a small blood clot. I am also more nauseated and probably more dehydrated than usual, but had very little cramps. Usually I have a very heavy blood flow (tampon change every 2-4 hours) and painful cramps, so this is out of the ordinary. I have had protected sex, and the condom did not break or seem to leak, but I'm still worried that I'm pregnant. It is day three, and already the "flow" seems to have stopped, while it normally lasts for at least 5 days consistently. Why is this happening?

If you are dehydrated it can mess up your period, make you nausious and give cramps. I would suggest making sure you are well hydrated.

No, the medicine is probably causing me to be nauseated, but as far as my research goes, there is no correlation.

it could be because of whatever medicine they gave you to go out of the country. but I would call my doctor and ask him what he thinks.
