post tubal ligation suspicions

I am 44 and 8 yrs ago I had a tubal ligation after my youngest son was born. For about a year now my periods have been very irregular which I chalked up to perimenopaus. I was also gaining weight which I also attributed to bad eating habits and the middle age slow down of metabolism. A few weeks back I was sitting at my desk at work. My pants' waist bands have grown tight and this particular pair was digging into me pretty good. Out of the blue I felta flutter against the band just like you do when you are first able to feel movement during pregnancy. I stopped and analyzed and I wasn't gaseous at the time! Since then I have continued to feel the movement. I have had other marked pregnancy symptoms, strong sense of smell, along with food aversion, nausea, abdominal cramping, fatigue, moodiness. I've taken 3 home pregnancy tests and all were negative. And one urine test at the hospital was also negative. But I've read a lot of stories of women who turned out pregnant who had negative tests at first. I've read and read about tubal ligation. Every site admits there is that 1 in a thousand. They always warn against ectopic
pregnancies which I don't have any of the symptoms of that. BUT beyond that I cannot find anything about those other, I don't know, 1 in 10,000 who actually did get pregnant and it wasn't ectopic and they carried to term. I have a neighbor across the street whose daughter is 2 weeks older than my 8yo. My neighbor had had her tubes tied, she had
4 false pregnancy tests and yet here she is. Ijust wish I could find some support from some other women who had
tubals but ended up pregnant. Why do doctors alway
s assume that if you've had a tubal you can't be pregnant if you could be that 1 in whatever? And my most nagging question is, If I'm not pregnant why do I continue to feel movement, and if people want to say it's ibs or anything else like that why would it respond to my husband's arm laying across my abdomen or why would my belly which is shaped exactly like a pregnant belly continue to grow to where I can't wear any if my pants even though I have lost
weight because of the nausea? Anyone have any ideas? Anyone know someone who had a baby after a tubal?

I just wish I could find a place where I could get feed back from several women who have had post tubal ligation babies. If the stats are 1 in 1000 out so they are out there and it would be interesting to hear their stories. How did they find out? Was it a missed period? Did they think it was possibly menopause and that's why they were missing their period? What was their initial reaction and that of their spouse? I have searched on the internet but all I've found were sites where women were wanting to reverse their tubal.

I can say I have felt what you are describing and at first did think it was movement. Asked my doctor and its my abdominal muscles twitching. Drives me crazy but definitely wasnt a baby. Now that I am pregnant I can tell the difference lol

Hi. I have a cousin that I'm really close to that had a tubal and found out she was pregnant. She carried full term and her daughter is now 3 years old. She was in complete shock because she had found out she was pregnant a year after she got her tubal. Oh it definitely can happen. You know your body better than anyone else. You should definitely see about getting your blood tested to see if you're pregnant.

I find it is hard to convince drs to do blood tests if the urine test is negative. But I finally got my regular Dr to do a blood test. The results will be back on Tuesday or Wednesday. She also tested for hormones and menopause. The thing that continues to big me if I'm not pregnant is what I feel. You know how it feels when the little  butt kind of gets couched down in one little side and kind of does a turn around and it makes you sore right there? Or when they kick you in the ribs and you feel sore? I'm not talking about that super soreness of the later months. I'm talking about earlier on where it's lighter but still uncomfortable.

I haven't personally known anyone to conceive post tubal, but it isn't unheard of either. Have you had a blood test or ultra sound? These may be things to bring up to your doctor.
