12 week ultrasound???

I am 12 weeks and 3 days and I'm going to get my 12 week ultrasound today, they told me they will be checking for the neck im not shure what they will be looking for, now would it be the one they do from your belly or vaginal i don't know what to expect thank you ladies.

I'm 11 weeks my first appointment is Wednesday I hope they'll do an ultrasound if I ask them

I just had mine two weeks ago. They look behind the neck for fluid, they can tell if your child has any developmental disabilities that way. They do a belly ultrasound, it was the first time I really got to see my baby besides when it looked like a bean! lol You will most likely get blood drawn too.

Probly will be on the belly this time. My dr told me they only do vaginal up til 12 weeks. Thank god I have my next ultrasound at 15 weeks ao it won't be vaginal anymore lol good luck today though hope eveeything turns out great!

Thank u this will be my 4th ultrasound and I'm getting sick of the vaginal ones lol

They take a measurement of the back of neck to check for down syndrome. If thicker then usual it could be a marker. Pretty routine though.  Don't worry

your first ultrasound is normally your belly! unless they cant find baby etc then they will do a vaginal one, don't worry sit back and relax! I was worried because I feared of something going wrong,but nope I saw my little baby and it was amazing! good luck!
