15 weeks spotting?

Hey I'm 15 weeks today and I woke up at 5 this morning cramping it felt like menstrual cramps but a little more intense and I went to the bathroom and had some brown blood. since then the cramping is staying the same intensity but just comes and goes and every time I go to the bathroom there is approx a teaspoon of blood and its red now. I called my Dr but she didn't seem alarmed and just asked me to come in at 8 in the morning tomorrow. This is my 2ND pregnancy and I had nothing like this with her at all ever I wasn't even sick with her and with this one its so different I know every pregnancy is different but is it normal to do this at 15 weeks?

My Dr is an hour and a half away and our local hospital don't take maternity patients they would have just sent me home..

I would have gone to the ER as soon as it happend but that's just me.
