22 Weeks, Water broken, help!

I am 22 weeks pregnant, and have had a rough pregnancy so far. I posted on here at the start of my pregnancy because I had a threatened miscarriage. But everything had been going good after that until the past week. We had our 21 week ultrasound and it turns out my water had broken. (I don't know when exactly, it had been leaking out in very small amounts apparently) My husband and I went to my OB clinic right after the ultrasound, and they sent us to a specialist the next day. He told me that I could wait it out until I am 24 weeks and try to save the baby, or I could induce now. I told him that we were going to wait it out. I have an appointment with my regular doctor on Monday, and I am sort of rethinking my decision. I am just so terrified if I wait much longer I will get an infection and risk my fertility. (The doctor won't put me on antibiotics because it would raise the risk of this happening in future pregnancies) I desperatly don't want to lose this baby (it is our firrst, I am 23) but I don't want to risk losing my ability to have more children either. Has anyone been through this before? I have never been more scared.

I am so sorry! I have not been through this, but if I were you, I'd wait it out too. Just stay in bed, don't do ANYTHING. And if you have to, tell the doctor you want to stay at the hospital in case something happens.

I'm so so sorry that you are going through this. I can't even imagine how you are feeling right now. :( Honestly I think the earliest I have ever heard of a baby surviving was 24 weeks. I would try to wait it out as long as possible. The longer that baby stays in there the better chance it has once its born.

I am so sorry to hear that. I want to tell you from experience, I currently work in a Newborn ICU and i see that very often. I want to say to you that the longer your baby stays inside of you the better it would be. Thats not to say your baby wouldnt survive, but i know where i work a baby born before 24weeks the doctors cant do much to help the baby. I will keep you in my prayers and i hope for the best for you and your baby.
