I am 38 weeks too and I dont even want my dr to check how much dilated I am until 39 weeks. I might not even get checked ar all because it is pretty pointless! You can be 1-3 cm dilated for 2 weeks and it doesnt mean ANYTHING until you start contracting or until your baby is ready. You still have 2 whole weeks yet! I dont understand why you are so upset/anxious to get things moving. If your due date comes and you still don't have any signs of labor, then I would start to do things to naturally self induce if it really bothers you. But honestly, you are still too early to be intentionally trying things to progress labor. You are basically trying to make your baby come earlier then what she is ready for. Just let your body do your thing girl! You will go into labor when you are ready, not when you want to.
I'm due on Monday and I'm 80% effaced with no dilation and no contraction or Braxton hicks whatsoever. Don't feel discouraged. Your baby will come when he/she is ready. :)
Well I'm also 38 weeks I had a doctors appointment Wednesday and I was dialated or progressing at all so I know How u feel my due date is December 17th
This is my first pregnancy and im dialted to a 3! So as a first time mommy you could be dilated!
DO NOT USE CASTOR OIL! just keep walking and having sex! Castor oil can really make you miserable and can get you sick and be dangerous. Good luck mama I'm 38 weeks also but progressing already, also red raspberry leaf tea.
No, castor oil will not help you go in to active labor. Castor oil is a laxative. If you are already nearing labor, it causes abdominal contractions that MAY irritate your uterus enough to get contractions closer together. All it really does is make you have multiple bowel movements, can cause diarrhea, can cause dehydration, make mom miserable and exhausted and can even cause complications.
I've heard too many negative things about castor oil, which is why I haven't tried it.
If u drink Castrol Oil it will Help U To Go Into Active Labor..
Thanks for the advice.
I'm hoping that I would follow in my immediate and extended families footsteps in going into labor early. Doesn't hurt to be hopeful.
You aren't due yet. Also, first time moms often don't deliver until 41 weeks or later. There is no reason you should be dilating or progressing at this point. I understand how uncomfortable the last few weeks of pregnancy are. However, stressing about it is doing your body no favors. It can even set you back and delay labor.
